Last Christmas I gave two handmade bags by Almondstuff as presents. The name is a jocular reference to the designer’s name, Laura Admetlla (Admetlla sounds like ‘ametlla’, or ‘almond’ in Catalan).
Almondstuff handmade bags are light and soft with mixed, somewhat formal textures, but a coquettish, cheerful touch.
- They have several interior pockets, so we can organise all the stuff we insist on carrying around :-)
- The use recycled and upholstery fabrics, such as linen, felt, cotton and leather, as well as vintage adornments
- They are cured and dyed individually to produce unique colours and finishes
“As an interior designer I came across lots of original fabrics, colours, textures and materials”, says Laura, “… then I thought, why not use them to create alternative accessories such as handbags, bracelets, wallets, etc. That’s how Almondstuff came about.”
What makes Almondstuff bags different is that they are hand made and, as such, you can send the designer any fabric you are emotionally attached to and she will include it either on the inside or the outside of the bag, giving you a 100% tailor-made product.
These original accessories are created individually, with love and care, and can be purchased in select shops in Barcelona as well as via this link.
